About Me
Hi, I'm Renee! I'm an artist who specializes in watercolor painting, but I love experimenting with new mediums and techniques—creative exploration is my jam. I'm also a long-time educator with experience in elementary art, special education, and school psychology.
As a self-taught artist, I’ve discovered that creating art is a deeply therapeutic practice for me. It allows me to be present, grounded, and fully immersed in the state of “flow.” Over the years, teaching art has also shown me that the true value of art—especially for children—lies in the process, not the final product.
With the launch of MADEokc (Mindful Art Design Exploration), my goal is to bring this same mindful, creative experience to both kids and adults. The best part? You don’t need to consider yourself an artist or be "good" at art. All you need is a willingness to explore, play, and be present.
At MADEokc, our mission is to nurture a love of creativity in children through hands-on projects and open-ended exploration. We believe that every child is an artist, and through mindful art and design experiences, we aim to inspire curiosity, confidence, and joy in the creative process.
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."
— Thomas Merton
